HEAVEN
Sure I talk to God. He has never talked to me.
I don’t want Him to talk to me; I might not have the wisdom to understand or have the pure of heart interpretation that would correctly motivate me to act. He gave Moses the Ten Commandments, good communication. However, the simplicity of “Thou shall not bear false witness.” is treacherously overwhelming. Agent Orange is a case in point. Has DuPont and Monsanto ever given false witness? How many preachers are guilty of bearing false witnesses to politicians?
There is no fault in talking to God. The slippery slope slides steeply into the bat cave when a self-proclaiming self-righteous pompous pilgrim proudly whisperers rather loudly that God speaks to him (If one speaks a lie three times, one begins to believe the lie.). Problem one: since God speaks to them who dares question their authority? Problem two: who dares question their interpretation of what God said? Problem three: who dares question their behavior? The United States Supreme Court has nine experienced professional attorneys to interpret the constitution, and they don’t always agree. Why should rational people accept what one person interpreted God to horsely whisper in his ear in the canyon on a misty moonlight night?
Oh, and by the way, there are bat cave inhabitants who also have intuitive insight guiding the Godly given soul clues (signs invisible to others, rational people) to direct their being which justifies their capricious moods.
The crowded pathway to hell has little bling, little freedom, little forgiveness. By comparison, seems like the pathway to heaven doesn’t have enough vacuum power. What were the creative Biblical writers thinking? For example, Praise has power. Wisdom has fun flights of fantasy. Pipers have flutes. Goodwill has comfort. Truth is a rainbow. Forgiveness is freedom.
I believe in my God and Goddess, the part that I understand. I am sure I partly believe in your God. We both partly believe in the Gods and Goddesses of other people. Therefore, we have a foundation on which to build. The pathway of together building shall get us to heaven. Our children shall be proud of us for the sacrifices we made. What greater honor than to have children proud of parents? “Thou shall honor thy parents.” (#4)
Sociopaths unbelievably and deservingly have the shame of hell for eternity. Thank You, God.
